Commercial real estate investment firm Brixton Capital has hired Craig Boone as asset manager. Mr. Boone will serve as Brixton’s primary representative in Texas, where the firm plans to significantly expand its portfolio of multi-family properties. Brixton Capital currently owns approximately 1,500 multi-family homes throughout multiple states, and has a goal of adding approximately 10,000 more multifamily units to its Texas portfolio over the next five years.
In his new role, Mr. Boone is responsible for the execution of the strategic plans for all of Brixton’s multi-family assets in Texas and throughout the Western states. He will work closely with property management firm UAG, which Brixton acquired last year.
Mr. Boone brings extensive experience in asset management. Most recently, he was responsible for a nationwide portfolio of mortgage loans and similar investments in commercial income-producing properties, including apartments, healthcare facilities, office, retail, and industrial assets for Lument Capital. He has also worked for Hunt Companies, Inc. as asset manager for its Hunt Military Communities. He managed the finances and oversaw the operations of privatized military housing and convention single and multifamily properties, totaling over 14,500 units and $1 billion. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Government and Economics, with a minor in business administration and Spanish.
Mark Selman, president of Brixton Capital, says, “Craig’s background in finance and asset management gives him a layered understanding of our business and the tools to help expand it. He will also help grow our asset management department, and his input will be valuable to our acquisitions team.”
“I’m excited to return to the owner-operator side of commercial real estate,” adds Boone. “I enjoy the entrepreneurial mindset and generating creative solutions, which I hope will play a key role in Brixton’s expansion in Texas and beyond.”
