In 2004, Brutten Global participated in the investment group headed by Bruce Ratner to acquire the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets) for US $300 million.

Marc Brutten’s family hails from Brooklyn, NY, so moving the team back to Brooklyn fulfilled both professional and personal goals for Marc Brutten. The Brooklyn Nets basketball team was sold in 2010.

The Barclays Center is part of a proposed $4.9 billion sports arena, business, and residential complex known as Pacific Park Brooklyn (formerly Atlantic Yards). After many delays to the redevelopment, the investment team brought in a $200 million capital infusion from an international businessman, finally allowing the new arena to be built. The investment group retained all of the development rights for the contiguous and neighboring properties, which, upon build-out, will exceed $1 billion in value.
