Brooklyn Nets Basketball

The Nets, a United States basketball team, were founded in 1967. The team is an original member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), and accepted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) as part of the NBA-ABA merger in 1976. The Nets won two ABA championships in New York and made it to two consecutive NBA Finals appearances in the 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons.

In 2012, the team was renamed from the New Jersey Net to the Brooklyn Nets moving from its New Jersey location to New York. They now play out of the Barclay Center, a new Brooklyn arena. The team is one of two NBA franchises playing in New York City.
