Brixton Capital will redevelop Stockton, California’s Sherwood Mall, a 511,242-square-foot shopping, dining, and entertainment center. The redevelopment, which will be rebranded as Sherwood Place, is located at 5308 Pacific Ave and will be the future home of specialty grocer Sprouts Farmers Market. Originally opened in 1979, renovations will begin in early 2022 and are anticipated to be complete in the spring of 2023.
The mall is anchored by national retailers and entertainment companies including Macy’s, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Petco, Ulta, Home Goods, and SkyZone — all of which will remain open throughout the renovation.
“Since acquiring Sherwood Mall in 2017, our firm has been dedicated to realizing the shopping center’s next iteration to fulfill the Stockton community’s needs,” said John Desco, the Executive Vice President of Regional Centers for Brixton Capital. “Already anchored by a robust cast of national retail and entertainment tenants, the project will bring added retail convenience and options to local residents.”
Eric Li of Brixton Capital and Chris Sills of Lee & Associates, as well as Bob Dishler and David Young of JLL, have been responsible for the Sherwood Place redevelopment leasing for Brixton Capital. The renovation was designed by K2M Design, and will be built by Stockton-based Haggerty Construction.
