As Director of Real Estate for European Operations, Roger Ford’s considerable experience in cross-border structuring and asset finance are invaluable to the company’s international focus. Roger also has a lengthy and successful track record in full life-cycle real estate investment, including procurement, acquisition and underwriting through to development, management and disposal.
Roger began his real estate career as a retail leasing broker in Leeds, UK, before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he specialized in distressed real estate, debt recovery and restructuring. He subsequently transferred to the firm’s financial advisory services team in New York working on real estate capital market projects across the U.S.
Roger returned to London in 2001, at which time he moved into the fund management sector, working for Teesland plc (now part of Valad Group), setting up specialist property funds for UK-based institutional investors. In 2004, Roger became head of real estate at Arab Banking Corporation, where he specialized in creating Islamic-compliant real estate investment and debt products in the UK and Europe. He subsequently joined Dubai Investment Group (part of Dubai Holding) as European director, assisting in the creation of its European operation in London.
Roger graduated with honours in Land Management from De Montfort University, Leicester (England) and holds a diploma in Land and Property Valuation. He qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1996.
